Meditations of Taban lo Liyong – Taban lo Liyong
The first hundred pages were an enjoyable and reflective read, basically about masculinity. The last sixty pages went a bit porno and have not aged well. I’d not heard of Liyong before buying the book and bought it because the were very clear on their South Sudanese identity.
So who would enjoy this book? I think anyone who is thinking about masculinity should read it. There’s also quite a lot of James Joyce in it which is interesting.
Will i re-read it? Likely, no, but I’m glad I’ve given it a read this one time.
